Founding Envirobank Recycling in 2008 to incentivise recyclers, Narelle introduced the concept of Reverse Vending Technology and automated depots to Australia. This technology now underpins the Container Deposit Schemes being rolled out in states across Australia.
A born entrepreneur, Narelle has owned multiple businesses and built a distinguished career in the waste industry. In 2000, she became the first aboriginal woman to solely own a waste management company. Her company is a registered Supply Nation Company, appointed by her peers she has also co-chaired the 2018 Supply Nations Business Advisory Group whose charter is work closely with other indigenous companies to help them grow and prosper.
In 2001 she was elected by her peers as the first female president of the Sydney chapter of The Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (EO) a dynamic, global network of more than 12,300 entrepreneurs in 54 countries.
Under Narelle’s visionary leadership, Envirobank won the Peter Szental Award for Sustainability Entrepreneurship in 2012 @ World Environment Day Awards.
